Andy and the Rattlesnakes

Click to play Episode III
Andy and the Rattlesnakes was dubbed “one of the great lost, eclectic underground rock n’ roll bands” by the L.A. Weekly and the band is still making some of the greatest music of their careers, combining their classic sound with the musical influences they have absorbed over the past three decades. In the late 70s and early 80s, Andy and the Rattlesnakes captivated L.A. music fans with their exciting live performances. Since the self-release of their first single in March 1980, a cover of Neil Diamond’s “Solitary Man”, the Rattlesnakes have always believed in the importance of the D.I.Y. ethic and their single, “Third World Wives” was included on 1981’s The D.I.Y. Album: Ten of America’s Best New Bands. We opened today’s show with “Last Summer to Dance”, a song which one Snakes fan wrote, "Last Summer to Dance made me get up and dance! Literally! Put on your blue suede shoes, and dig it!" that fan was John Densmore of The Doors. It is my honor and pleasure to introduce today’s guest Andy and the Rattlesnakes’ very own Andy Krikun.

593 . Here I Am, Lord

Click to play Here I Am, Lord

Here I Am, Lord

1.  I, the Lord of sea and sky,
I have heard my people cry.
All who dwell in dark and sin
My hand will save.

I who made the stars of night,
I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear my light to them?
Whom shall I send?

(Refrain)
Here I am, Lord
Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord,
If you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

2.  I, the Lord of snow and rain,
I have borne my people's pain.
I have wept for love of them.
They turn away.

I will break their hearts of stone,
Give them hearts fo love a-lone.
I will speak my word to them.
Whom shall I send?

(Refrain)
