"My Love"

by
Apocalypse Five & Dime

From their album, "Ballads for the End Times".
Dear Friends:
We've been working hard on mixing and mastering our new songs with the very talented Don Godwin and we're happy to report that the first two are out now. Check out our new Bandcamp page where you can download both of them for free (or toss us a buck or two if you wish).
We've also added them to our Last.fm page, where you can listen to "Apocalypse Five and Dime" radio with us and bands like us. Finally, you can stream them on our Youtube.com channel if you like. If you're in the Hundson Valley area, you've probably already heard that we'll be there on June 2nd to play the annual spring party at the farm where our tuba player Adam Katzman lives. Our album Ballads for the End Times recently recieved a gushingly positive review in the Hudson Valley's arts and culture weekly, Chronogram.
Thanks!

Lorin Cook

Lorin Cook is a composer, singer, artist, poet, and performer........
I heard Lorin Cook at a Hootenanny at Dornans, Moose,WY this past September. He gave me a CD which I almost never heard 'cause it was in a backpack that I lost in Lincoln, Nebraska, but thanks to Craig's List it was returned to me in New Joisey.
Here are the songs from his cd:

Steve Freides

J S Bach Prelude from Cello Suite #1
Performed by Steve Freides

"Without A Song"
Performed by Steve Freides

"Without A Song" has been performed and recorded in every style
imaginable - fast, slow, Latin. This is my quiet take on the tune, which is one of my all-time favorites.

Music by Vincent Youmans,
Lyrics by Billy Rose and Edward Eliscu
Published in 1929
First recorded by Perry Como in 1951

"Andante", from the well-known guitar method
Opus 27, by Ferdinando Carulli (1770-1841)

I played a piece simply titled, "Andante"
which is a tempo (speed)
indicator more than an actual title, but that's because it's

from Carulli's guitar method, Opus 27

"Frederick Noad - Classical Guitar Exercises" are simple pieces for two classical guitars, one each intended for student and teacher.  The performers are Mr. John Clary, and me.
John is playing an instrument made by Australian luthier John Price,
and I am playing a Dieter Hopf.  The recordings were made with a Zoom
H2, a small portable recorder with built-in microphones, sitting on
the music stand in front of us.

Hope you enjoy them.

Marianna Filippi

TIDES
composed by Marianna Filippi
played by Dan Murphy

I wrote this when I was twelve years old. It was used as a soundtrack for
a film about Martha's Vineyard, produced by John Budris in 2005.

Allistair Encarte
Composed and performed by Marianna Filippi
2005

This is one of my oldest pieces. It was written as an "illustration" for a character in a graphic novel I am writing.

OSHAN
composed and performed by Marianna Filippi
2006

If you ever get down to the highlands of Cape Breton, go out with Captain
Cyril Fraser on his whale watching expedition. I wrote this in honor of
his boat, "Oshan" and the magnificent Aspy Bay.

SHELOUN
composed and performed by Marianna Filippi
2006

Everyone has a best friend who has moved away. I composed this song when I realized how very much I missed my friend who moved across the country from Maine to Seattle.

The Wolf Inside
Composed and performed by Marianna Filippi
2010

One of my most recent works, and my personal favorite.

REMEDY

composed and performed by Marianna Filippi
composed 2006 rearranged 2010

An oldie but a goodie! I re-worked this piece after digging it out and am
very happy with the new sound.

One of my most recent works, and my personal favorite.
